Big Energy-Little Learners...Can I do it all?

This is a pretty popular game for preschoolers.  We have played it a couple times ourselves and I see it in preschool packs often.  I was pleased to see it in the Egyptian pack for use this week.  This game is a game of chance, but is also mathematics because you graph your results. It can also be considered basic science because we are testing the results of the di roll and documenting our results.  To  make this game more interesting then just rolling and graphing we start our game by picking a character we want to "win" or reach 10 first.  Next we give a color to each character, again just to make it a bit more interesting.   Then the rolling starts.  We rolled and marked until on column reached 10 and we had a winner!    Neither of our characters ended up winning the camel pulled through and beat us to the finish line, but we enjoyed playing and graphing. :) 

Here a couple activities we did during this week to get moving, some science, and a daddy folder. Bubble Wrap Stomp A sensory experience for feet and fingers.  I was so excited for this activity! I spread out some bubble wrap and tapped it to the floor.  Then had the kids line up to run across it hearing the bubbles popping under their feet.   This didn't happen :(.  Perhaps it was because the bubble wrap was from the dollar store but there was no popping.   So I told the kids to jump on it, which they did without hesitation.  Still no popping....what? I split the bubble up and gave each child (and parent) a piece to pop with their fingers.  Still no popping!  We tried rolling it up and twisting it and we got a few pops but not much.  All in all the kids had a blast jumping and squeezing the bubble wrap.  And the few pops we did get were very exciting.  If I ever want to mail something fragile I know where ...

The end of the week seems to be coming faster then I am ready for.  Wednesday went really well in preschool we accomplished a bunch.  Thursday Little Dragon and I were both worn out and took it easy.  There is not much left to do; we can finish it all tomorrow. Wednesday and Thursday I left out the circle busy bag from Tuesday and added this fall tree on Wednesday. I found this on 3Dinosaurs .  Little Dragon covered his car in pom poms and thought it was really funny.  He also threw them around a bit. Completing all the daily activities I have planned has been more difficult this week then last.  I have been feeling so tired.  Not lazy tired, I can't force my eyes open even with  coffee tired.  I don't usually sleep more then 6 hours a night but the last 3 days I have been getting at least 10. It will be three weeks on Monday since we have seen Athena.  Emotions are high.  We are trying to continue living normally but everything is a reminder.  Jerry has continually attempted to communicate with the bm and is not making progress. :(. I am continuing to pray for both Athena and her bm. Praying to get through this week. Gumball There is not a list of activities in this folder because this just one game. I found this activity on  http://www.makinglearningfun.com  where there are many other ideas you could make into file folders.  (I have a stack of 'to do' folders I haven't gotten around to making yet.) I colored the gumball machine, cut it out and glued it to construction paper.  I printed out all the cards, colored them, cut them and glued them to construction paper then placed them in the Ziploc. I only printed 2 of the graphing sheets.  I currently have 2 kids and don't need more then that but you could print as many as you would like. I placed them in page protectors.  What is great about that is they are pretty much dry erase.  Washable markers also wipe right off! Our St. Patrick's Day Activites A close family member had a double mastectomy on Friday so everyone in the family is doing what they can to help out.  My duty today was babysitting. Once I knew I would have the kids' cousins over on St. Patrick's day I started planning.  Oh my were we going to have fun! (Spencer was not over for the festivities because it was not my weekend :(, although tomorrow he will get a chance to participate in the activities.) I gave the girls and Isaiah until lunch time to play dress up or whatever it is they play *chuckle* while I got the activities ready.
