Week 9 Wrap Up

Week 9 trickled into a couple days of Thanksgiving week.  There were some things I wanted to get finished up and I didn't want to start a new letter Thanksgiving week.  We had plenty to do to prepare for the holiday there was no reason to stress over completing work. Bible We continued using the white board as a learning tool for David and Goliath.  Little Dragon did not seem bored of it. I set up a David and Goliath sensory sink that I will talk more about below. The dragons had a bible verse race.  I wrote the bible verse on rocks and they had to race to pick up a rock, race back to the other end of the room and match it to the correct word in the verse. Isaiah won the race. The dragons put on a small play for Jerry after nap time, acting out the story of David and Goliath. Isaiah was Goliath.  He stood on a desk with a 'sword' and said "Come fight me!" Doll Dragon was Queen (King) Sal.  She gave up her armor to David. Little Dragon was Davi...

Turkey's

Thanksgiving is around the corner and we are fitting some Pilgrims and Indians into our week. To introduce the story of Thanksgiving I printed some story cards online. The boys practiced their cutting skills by cutting them out then we sat together for story time. Before starting the story telling we identified each picture to make sure the boys knew what everything was. I asked the boys to tell a story using the cards. I got blank looks from both of them.  So I told a story first. Then asked them to tell me a story.  They each identified their cards again and said they were done.  Not much creative story telling going on. There was also a felt board Pilgrim, Indian, and Turkey for play. Little Dragon could dress them up and move around the feathers on the turkey. He has ventured over to this activity for at least 10 minutes everyday.   Tonight during dinner he was playing with the turkey and I sang a Turkey Song for him.  The origin...

Wrap up for week 5

When we were finishing the letter t we were also starting our Halloween crafts.   I am posting this well after Halloween but as we all know life happens.  We had a 2 birthdays, a week visit from out of town family, and other personal stress.  I am glad to see that it is coming to a close and I am finding time again to blog.  I have a ton of catching up to do.  I may have stopped blogging but preschool continued. We have been keeping busy with preschool work but unfortunately due to sharing a phone for a period of time I am short on pictures.  I use pictures to help me remember all the things we did in preschool.  Because of the lack of pictures there may be some things I forget.   Crafts Starry Night Materials Star prints (you can find here .) 2 Popsicle sticks or small craft sticks Cardstock Little Dragon glued on the sticks and cut the line in the paper for the tent opening.  Inside the tent is the letter t Little Drag...

Week 3 Wrap Up

These are the last and/or completed activities for Week 3-A is for Apple. Craft During this week there were some projects that took a couple of days to complete. Apple Tree Craft Part 3 Materials Fall tree part 2 Green paint Fingers I taped the tree to the easel and gave Little Dragon two different colors of green paint.  I went with green because I wanted the tree 'leafs' to be fall colored and it would be difficult to see the red apples.  We had also just come from the apple orchard and had picked plenty of green apples so it worked out well. While he finished this project we talked about the story of Adam and Eve.  I didn't want to go over it like a review so it was more of a conversation.  He placed his finger in the green paint then pressed it onto the tree.  He put some on the ground below the leafs on the painting.  I thought this was creative.  This is how he saw the apples at the orchard.  Bible We re...

Apple Picking

We went on our first field trip to an apple orchard! When we arrived at the apple orchard it started sprinkling.  Then a bit more than a sprinkle.  We grabbed our umbrella and jackets and continued to walk to the apple tree.  It was warm and the rain drops were small.  We decided to stay.    When we turned down the first row of trees the rain stopped and the sun pushed it's way through the clouds. We were blessed with a dry sky the rest of our time.  There was a lot of open space the boys enjoyed running through.   With apples on the ground and slick grass from the rain the boys did fall often.  It was adorable, as if they were toddlers again.  They didn't fall hard, nor get hurt.  All the falls were soft.  They popped back up and would run again. There were also plenty of bad apples on the ground to observe bugs. The boys really enjoyed choosing which apples to pick, reaching up and grabbing them and cra...

The end of the week seems to be coming faster then I am ready for.  Wednesday went really well in preschool we accomplished a bunch.  Thursday Little Dragon and I were both worn out and took it easy.  There is not much left to do; we can finish it all tomorrow. Wednesday and Thursday I left out the circle busy bag from Tuesday and added this fall tree on Wednesday. I found this on 3Dinosaurs .  Little Dragon covered his car in pom poms and thought it was really funny.  He also threw them around a bit. Little Dragon finished his creation book Wednesday.  I am really excited to have it, he doesn't seem thrilled.  :/ Crafts Day 5 of Creation Book Materials White paper Feathers  Fish stickers Little Dragon put his fish on first then glued the feathers all over the page.  Easy breezy.
