Big Energy-Little Learners...Can I do it all?

We don't get the chance for field trips often so myself and the kids were very excited about our field trip. We visited the city for our field trip.  We went to the downtown library and rode a trolley to the Peanut Shop. Our first stop was the library.  We wanted to make the field trip educational and read a book about trolley's before we went on our trolley ride.  The downtown library was huge!  There was a nice turtle display up for kids to touch and explore.  The librarian took the time when we walked in to talk to the kids about turtles.  There was a real turtle shell too!  There were plenty of things to play with.  Lego blocks, trains, a doll house, a pretend kitchen with table and chairs, and a sleeping area for baby dolls.  There were also plenty of books (of course) and puzzles.  The dragons also enjoyed looking at the city and watching the cars drive by.  After a good ...

Getting back on schedule after the break has been difficult. School was cancelled on Monday and Tuesday  the house was full of small dragons running around. I learned during the Christmas break that I need allow more time for play and more time for mom.  I have been so obssessed with preschool that I haven't kept up the house as well as I should.  Some of this has to do with the lack of a schedule.  No matter what I do I cannot get Little Dragons dad to agree on a schedule.  Doll Dragons schedule also changes frequently.  Because of these reasons I cannot set aside the morning or afternoon for preschool.  Sometimes Little Dragon doesn't arrive until 12:30 or 1.  We have lunch then nap time.  It is hard to work with no schedule. This week we have completed 2 days of preschool.  Jerry and I had an important appointment regarding Doll Dragon that put preschool off for the day.  I will be definitely be carrying this week into next. ...

These are the last and/or completed activities for Week 3-A is for Apple. Craft During this week there were some projects that took a couple of days to complete. Apple Tree Craft Part 3 Materials Fall tree part 2 Green paint Fingers I taped the tree to the easel and gave Little Dragon two different colors of green paint.  I went with green because I wanted the tree 'leafs' to be fall colored and it would be difficult to see the red apples.  We had also just come from the apple orchard and had picked plenty of green apples so it worked out well. We went on our first field trip to an apple orchard! When we arrived at the apple orchard it started sprinkling.  Then a bit more than a sprinkle.  We grabbed our umbrella and jackets and continued to walk to the apple tree.  It was warm and the rain drops were small.  We decided to stay.    When we turned down the first row of trees the rain stopped and the sun pushed it's way through the clouds. We were blessed with a dry sky the rest of our time.  There was a lot of open space the boys enjoyed running through.   With apples on the ground and slick grass from the rain the boys did fall often.  It was adorable, as if they were toddlers again.  They didn't fall hard, nor get hurt.  All the falls were soft.  They popped back up and would run again. I wanted to write a post about our vacation. There was not a whole lot of time to sit down and do learning activities but my sister and I still did our best to educate our kids in all the fun things we did on vacation. Water Play! While me and mommy #2 were getting ready to go shopping we needed something to busy the kids.  My sister pulls out this tub of our younger brothers old rubber duck collection and set the kids at a table.  They were enjoying themselves just fine until they wanted each others ducks. >:/ To solve this problem I figured we could give them each their own container to play with and why not add water?   It worked!  They enjoyed having their own space to play.  They older two still played pretend together and traded ducks with good manners.  This idea was mostly to help the younger kids.  Dinosaur Park At such a fun age all of the kids love dinosaurs and were stoked to go to the dinosaur park.  We ...
